After some years as a contractor, I took a permanent role as design draughtsman when family and home ownership happened on the same day in February 2004.

I picked up and learned the business quickly and enjoyed some interesting buildings over the next five years. I designed, managed and coordinated work from architectural detail design to procurement and sub-contract management/supervision to snagging. As a ‘technical problem solver’ I had an aptitude for unusual technical features such as the cantilevered outrigger supports for a live brise-soliel system for the HQ offices of Higgins Construction PLC at Langston Road, Loughton.
