I started on the existing Vita Living contract for Keir and set to correcting detail drawing errors and omissions to achieve final approval of Kawneer windows.i designed all the SFS framing infill and scheduled all these materials for site teams to read, understand & install correctly. I set out all fire compartmentation positions and detail drawings, prepared materials inventory and procurement and supervised bracketry and pressed metal scheduling by apprentice staff.

I also obtained a design concession for a Kawneer sliding main entrance door: over-sized at 2.8m tall. This required much adaptation and development of architects' details which made it an even sweeter success.

It went very well and I did the same for the Circle Square contract in Manchester - a similar building, fully residential and up to 32 storeys high.

FK seems a very sound company and I probably shouldn't have left but had an offer too good to refuse. However, it was good to experience a well run outfit with brilliant admin - not to be under-rated.
